From July 2-9, 2022, the IPBES (Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services), held its 9th session of the IPBES Plenary in 2022 in Bonn, Germany. Since IPBES’ establishment in 2012, they have been instrumental in its role to strengthen the science-policy interface for biodiversity and ecosystem services, and further, receiving much attention due to the publication of high-profile, high-quality, comprehensive, and thorough assessments on a variety of biodiversity-related topics.

The goal of the TU eMpower Africa (TUMA) AgroForestry (AF) team strives to make impact within the same areas of biodiversity and ecosystem services.

William Aguirre-Ráquira, team lead for TUMA AgroForestry, participated in the stakeholders day on July 2, 2022. He brought back valuable insights from the event, and ideas on how TUMA can align with IPBES by contributing beneficial research through our project in Ghana.
